The Demon Prince of Momochi House – Season 1 Episode 9 Recap & Review

A Raven-Black Storm

The Demon Prince of Momochi House Episode 9 begins with Aoi practising his skills when Yukari tells him that Himari is out late at Kagome Park. Aoi seems worried. Himari explores the park with her friends when they hear a voice singing and narrating a spooky poem. Just then, a man in a uniform appears, but they slap him down, revealing it is Senoo. Senoo claims he wanted to fake a story. They ask him where he found the coat, but he isn’t able to recollect.

On the way back home, Hidaka claims that there might be some truth to Kagome’s claims, as he remembers there being some buzz many years ago. Unfortunately, he isn’t able to recollect. Himari notices that memories are taken away by force. Hidaka offers to walk Himari home and claims he had come to pick her up once but got lost.

On her way home, she hears the same strange voice singing about Kagome. Just then, Senoo appears in front of her and traps her in dark flares. Aoi arrives and transforms into the Nue. Himari asks him not to attack the being, as it is her friend. Nue tells Ise and Yukari to save her from the clutches of the spirit. Aoi then uses his spell to get rid of the spirit. The spirit claims to know Aoi, reigniting a childhood memory. The spirit then vanishes as flying ravens.

Later that night, the ayakashi are scared. Ise drops Senoo back home, and Yukari checks for anything suspicious. Aoi isn’t able to shake the thought off. Later, Aoi sees Yukari with the kimono he wore as a child, and Yukari sounds more human. Yukari empathizes with Aoi’s position and appreciates him. He also asks him about the pressures of the responsibility he has taken on and the sacrifices he has had to make.

Later that night, Himari puts the ayakashi to sleep, and Aoi gives her a hug, asking her to put him to sleep as well. Just as he is about to kiss her, the ayakashi’s voice Kagome’s voice He runs outside and sees the spirit once again. It claims that Aoi knows it and pushes him to think about it.

It traps Ise and Yukari. As Aoi recollects, it turns out to be Nachi. Nachi claims to have come to get Aoi. Nachi claims that he can enter as Aoi remembers him. Unfortunately, Aoi is not able to transform into Nue at the end of The Demon Prince of Momochi House Episode 9.

The Episode Review

In The Demon Prince of Momochi House Episode 9, we see Nachi make an appearance and seem to have a very intriguing personality. To begin with, he is the first person from the outside world to remember who Aoi is. The episode cuts off before we get to know more about him, leaving us at a cliffhanger.

A lot of things in this episode are unexplained — Senoo getting possessed, Nachi himself, and his strange ability to dim Aoi’s powers. It almost seems like he has the powers of the Nue. Apart from that, the episode also gives some hope for Aoi and Himari’s relationship.
