Shogun Season 1 Episode 10 Release Date
Shogun Season 1 Episode 10 will be released on Tuesday 23rd April at 12 AM E.T. This time is for the streaming release on Hulu and Disney+. The new episode will then be broadcast on FX the same day at 10 PM E.T. Expect the runtime to be roughly 55 minutes or thereabouts, which is consistent with the time frame for the rest of the episodes. However, given it is the finale, the runtime may breach the hour mark.
Shogun is a period drama and is campaigned as a prestige offering from the network. It has lived up to its billing and the finale shouldn’t be anything but arguably the most eye-catching moment in television for 2024.
The new episode of Shogun is titled “A Dream of a Dream.” The episode will be available to stream with subtitles. The plot summary for Episode 10 reads: “In the wake of a tragic death, Blackthorne finally considers the true nature of Toranaga’s plan.”

What happened in Episode 9?
Episode 9 of Shogun is all about Mariko and her determination to finally get absolution. Toranaga’s secret plan is to put Ishida in an impossible situation that draws out his hypocrisy and turns the tide against him. Mariko demands to leave the castle in front of everyone during a meeting with Ishido. The entire room is stunned when she proposes to go out of her own will.
Whatever Ishido decides will go against him. If he lets her leave, the other members of high families trapped in the castle will rise in rebellion. If he doesn’t, she will commit suicide and bring even more scrutiny to his political leadership.
Mariko and her travelling party are engaged in a stalemate as Ishido’s guards refuse to back down. Blood is shed and she declares that she will commit seppuku to make Toranaga’s plan a success.
