Has Joko Anwar’s Nightmares and Daydreams been renewed for Season 2?

At the time of writing, Netflix has not renewed Joko Anwar’s Nightmares and Daydreams for Season 2. The show has not officially been renewed for a follow-up season yet. However, that could change given the popularity of the show.

The show is currently receiving mixed reviews online with an average IMDB rating of 6.8 on 10. The show also has an average Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score of 73% which means it is being received favourably by viewers. Given this mixed bag of a reaction, there is a chance that this Netflix original, may not be renewed for a follow-up season.

However, Episode 7 of Joko Anwar’s Nightmares and Daydreams hints at a possible renewal of the show for a follow-up season. This could hint that the makers of this one are already working on a follow-up season. With this in mind, we predict that Joko Anwar’s Nightmares and Daydreams is likely to be renewed for Season 2. What we know about Joko Anwar’s Nightmares and Daydreams Season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about Season 2 right now. Given that the makers haven’t officially announced a renewal for this Netflix Original. There’s certainly some scope for this to expand out and evolve though, and we could see the Antibodies coming together to kill the evil creatures who are in Agartha. Episode 1 ended with a hand emerging from the burned-down shelter home and we can expect to learn more about that.

On the other hand, we also were not able to see Syafin in the season finale. It is not clear if he is a part of the antibodies or one of the evil creatures. We can expect the makers of the show to give us more people who will join the Antibodies if the show is to be renewed for another season. 

However, since the show hasn’t officially been renewed, we can expect Netflix to announce a follow-up season in the next few months. We’ll still be sure to update this section when we know more.
