Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne star as Will and Sylvia, two long-time friends who come together after years of estrangement when Will divorces his wife Audrey. The show makes no meal of its concept and never tries to put into question the friendship between Will and Sylvia.
There are various instances when their dynamic is misconstrued by people. But it has an insignificant effect on them. The show also explores their individual lives and how they deal with adult problems while juggling family and work.

Platonic Season 1 Episode 9 Release Date
Platonic Season 1 Episode 9 will release on Wednesday 5th July at 12am (PT)/3am (ET).
The episode is titled “Slumber Party” and will pick up right after the events of episode 8, where Sylvia and Will got into an entanglement with Johnny Rev at his own house and lost the deal. Platonic will drop with subtitles available from the release too. Episode 9 is expected to be roughly 33 minutes long, consistent with the time frame for the rest of the series.

What happened in Episode 8?
In San Diego, Sylvia, Will, Andy, Reggie, and Katie, all went to the titular city to close the beer deal with Johnny Rev. Meanwhile, Charlie gathered his colleagues and questioned Sylvia and Will’s relationship after he discovered photos in his gallery of Sylvia spending time with Will at his bar a day before she told Charlie she was fired. Will’s former lizard also makes Charlie very insecure.
The deal is threatened when Will learns that Rev tried to force himself on Sylvia. Rev thought she was a “loose woman” since she was on a business trip with a “man who was not her husband.” Will picks a beef with Rev and it does not go well. Sylvia has another fire to douse at home as Charlie waits for an explanation.
